PocKit Robot is our fun kids’ adventure series that aims to inspire families to love – and enjoy spending more time in – nature

Aimed at children aged 3–8 (and their grown-ups!) PocKit Robot launched independently over the summer 2025 and has already achieved tens of thousands of views. But it’s not your typical kids' show. PocKit Robot: Nature Adventures stars two tiny (but infinite!) aliens, disguised as a toy robot, who chance upon Earth and decide to stay – truly blown away by all the life and wonders they find here – after a millennia of feeling meh about the gas, ice, dust and rock the rest of the universe has to offer 🥱

With a little help from their new human friend, Kasey, they discover more and more exciting natural life, in the unique Blackdown Hills National Landscape of South West England.

All four episodes are on www.pockit.life which also has additional reading and lots of inspiration for having fun in nature all year round. The videos will be hosted on YouTube, so subscribing there as well as across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, will really help the project grow.

Created by Somerset-based hyper-mouse Films, these episodes have been a labour of love for this family-run independent animation and film studio. Filmed in and supported by the Blackdown Hills National Landscape, they showcase the uniquely beautiful British landscape. The shows invite early learners (and their grown-ups) to look at nature with awe and wonder – one adventure at a time.

“If you and I had been exploring the universe and then seen Earth – after all of that gas and rock – surely our minds would be blown too? We wanted to support that feeling of amazement in young children and gently enthuse them to pester their grown-ups into spending more time in, and appreciating, nature. Because after all, we are nature” says co-creator Mei Cooper.

Each 7 minute episode explores a different natural environment, from a sparkling and naturally wiggly stream; to the nature corridor and biodiversity haven that is a hedgerow; or mindblowingly complex but fantastic fungus! Each is intended to spark curiosity and lifelong emotional connection to nature; perfect to watch just before (or after!) a real outdoor adventure.

Scott Cooper, co-creator of PocKit Robot adds: “We wanted to create something that reaches kids where they often are (watching TV) that inspires them to go outdoors, with a show specifically designed to fuel their love and respect for nature, right from the start of their learning journey.”

Designed to close the loop that opens with watching a show about how fun and exciting nature is; www.pockit.life will be a Nature Club and Resource Hub for kids and grown-ups alike. Activities, downloads, nature news and trails will all be available for families who are looking for free outdoor activities or rainy-day projects. There will also be food-for-thought on topics such as ‘how helping nature is helping ourselves’; as well as regenerative themes and insights, with a gentle touch, to appeal to our earliest learners.

Schools throughout the Blackdown Hills and beyond, will be invited to take advantage of this free resource which has been designed to fit within various aspects of the KS1 curriculum. The pilot episode had already been shown to over 700 school children before the official launch, with huge success and excellent feedback. The verdict? Kids absolutely love it.
